Christmas Hair...

 photo photo_zps150cb1b8.jpg

I have been getting into the Christmas spirit and trying out a few different hair ideas, since its so darn hot here i have been wanting to just get my hair off my shoulders and a cute way to do it was a simple Betty Grable inspired up-do with holly that i chopped off the stem and pinned individually. Its so cute and easy..and although im sorry the photo isnt the best it will survive a full night dacing (tried and tested).

I will be taking a few days break from blogging while im stuffing my face with mince pies and lazing in the pool with a Christmas cracker hat on.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas Xx

Roll and Twist..

photo _MG_0498_zps9b9b7947.jpg Sunday's hairstyle resulted in one of those "amazing" hair days! possibly because i had a little longer than normal in the morning to roll and pin whilst a cup of hot coffee sat next to me and Duke performed his morning chatter/chirp session.
I then threw on one of my favourite 50's dresses and braved the frosty wind to have a coffee with a new friend in a cosy cafe! After which i then ate (a whole packet)of 100's & 1000's Oreo cookies while watching Seinfeld re-runs. (of course there was the mundane washing clothes and mopping floors in between..but who wants to hear about that!)

Hope your weekend was swell! Xx

Hair Tutorial: Betty Grable Rolls

 photo _MG_0241_zps2143d1cd.jpg

A few weeks ago i posted about a lazy Sunday hair style that i had thrown together and since you all asked so nicely for a tutorial i scrambled one together.

In true Ally style i filmed it on a overcast day with little to none sun light (typical) so i hope you are able to see the video okay and get the idea of how quick and easy this no fuss up do is! If you have any questions please leave a comment and ill answer it for you! Xx

STYLE TUTORIAL: 1920's Faux Bob & Finger Wave

I am not sure that i have ever told you what i do for work aside from blogging on this little corner of internet paradise i am also a full-time office monkey for an amazing hairdressing company called Maurice Meade they are the biggest brand in Western Australia and i am always picking up new tricks for doing my own vintage inspired styles too! (Perks of the job)

I was lucky enough to be asked to do a little style tutorial in anticipation of The Great Gatsby release yesterday a simple and easy 1920's "do" and since i am definitely not a hairdresser i think its a great way to encourage you to get in and give it a go!

The last video i filmed for Vintage Valley touched on the wave at the front a little more which you can view here but i also threw in a faux bob to jazz it up a little.

If you have any questions please dont hesitiate to ask i will answer them in the comment section!

Video Tutorial: Vintage Wave

So here we have it! Another quick, easy vintage up-do.
My apologies for the length of the video i hope you have a good five min to spare and for how dark it was when i filmed this...overcast days are not the best!

I hope it is easy enough to follow if you need any questions answered please just comment and i will reply.

Hair Tutorial: Victory Rolls

As promised here is a hair tutorial i filmed over the weekend on how i do my Victory Rolls huzzah!!

Hopefully it is pretty simple for you to follow and that my voice isn't too irritating to listen to (hooray for nasal voice recordings) like i mentioned a few times in the video the way i do them may not be technically correct but its the simplest way i have found.

I have a few more hair tutorials that i will be filming in the coming weeks so if there is something you want to learn please let me know or if there is something you want me to have a go at (i am always looking for new hairstyles to conquer).

If you have any questions leave a comment and i will answer them for you Xx

Video Tutorial: Vintage Inspired Up-Do

Well to say i had a productive weekend is an understatement! i even made time to do my first ever video hair tutorial.

I have had it on my to do list for a few months now and after a few readers begged me for a tutorial i figured id put all my nervous thoughts aside and jump in and give it a go.

It is in no way era accurate but it is one of the many hairstyles i do daily and is quick and easy! I hope you have time to watch it and if you have any questions or suggestions for future video tutorials please let me know! Xx
