Something sweet...

No matter how many times i see this or find it on other people's blogs.. it still gives me goosebumps.. Nirrimi is one seriously talented girl..she has the most gorgeous blog and encourages me endlessly with her photography!! (And since were still going through a heat wave here, watching this makes me long for a little warm rain) XX Happy Wednesday

See how the sun shines...

Whew, well I don’t even know where to start telling you about my Christmas weekend… I got up early for breakfast at my auntie’s when it was a little cooler and the heat hadn’t hit us yet, there was lots of cracker pulling and gift giving which then finished with a play put on by the little kiddo’s (which was so adorable)
Then it was off to my best friends family lunch and a lot more eating.. And then crashing on the couch to sleep off my tired belly and sunburned shoulders..





I was totally spoilt and was given so many wonderful gifts.. But most of all I loved the drive up to Quairading on Boxing day to see my mum and have lunch.. Quariading is about a two hour drive from the centre of Perth so its nice to get away every now and then into the country I left pretty early so the heat wouldn’t make my car blow up and had the windows down and music cranked up the whole way.. Nothing but an open road and 110km speed limits…bliss!!!! I swear i sat down all afternoon telling awful cracker jokes and attacking the chocolate fondue yumm..



Like I mentioned in the music post our house has acquired a front blow up pool so I spent most of the afternoon on Monday lazing in the pool and drinking ginger beer…ahhh I just love love Christmas (just for the time off really) but its back to work now until New Years…

I am still going through a yellow dress stage, probably because it’s the one colour you can happily clash your shoes with and plus its summer and hopefully the sun is deflecting off me haha this pleated dress has the cutest back buttons (which of course I didn’t get a photo of) and I don’t mind the puff top section because it can be easily smooshed down a little with a belt which is handy.. Sometimes I steer clear of them because they are a little too puffy!!



I thought id add a few pictures of my trip down to Quairading for you all to see I wore my most comfy sheer dress for the drive down, and my new silver brogue flats.. I also stopped into a few fields on the way to do a little location scouting for my new lookbook for the shop..

Music Monday...

The Seabellies

Its already Monday.. i cant believe that Christmas is already over and New Years is on its way.. i hope you all had a safe and family filled Chrissy...
As usual i have been listening to alot of indie/pop over the week its just such a mood lifter and great for lounging in the blowup pool at the front of our house sipping cocktails!! So i thought id post a bit of Seabellies another fab Australian band.. I hope it lifts you out of your Monday blahs and gets you off the couch from nursing your Christmas bellies XX (I have a fair bit of running to do this week to make up for it)!!!

All natural....

So its Christmas eve...and its 34 degrees outside!!! Hot.. to say the least.. you can probably tell be my sweaty face in these photos.. its so hot my makeup slides off my face!! ugh!!! Its set to be over 38 degrees tomorrow oh...my golden syrup!!! ill be sitting all day fanning my face with a cracker hat im sure... i thought id keep things natural and stick with Black and white with light makeup... especially in this weather its hard to get away with heavier makeup!!





(i finally found those lace sleeves i had been wanting) i think this is my Chrissy dress.. its airy and light and i can just swap the pumps over to my brogues.. i also love that its a slip dress and i can basically swap the colour palette over... i think this dress will be perfect with a pastel pink slip underneath!!!











I thought id keep this post short and sweet since im sure your all running around finishing up Christmas odds and ends.. im officially ready, all the shopping is done, Shortbread baked and cards written!! im up early to visit my Aunties and then to my Best Friends family lunch...ohh im going to be stuffed...i hope you all have a safe holiday..

Under the Mistletoe...

I am so sorry loves that I didn’t get to post yesterday!!! Lucky me my tripod decided to break on me (it must be all the road trips ive made it come on with me trekking through the hills and getting battered by weather).. but after a long frustrated debate with myself whether to throw it out or get a new one.. my friend sticky tape came to the rescue.. my poor tripod looks a little worse for wear but it stays up now haha.

Anyway because of this little event I had to opt to taking photos inside of my outfit it is a little dreary and bland but I promise to get out into the world for my next outfit post…



Ahem… can u believe its Christmas on Saturday im beyond excited!! I have had the most funny/ amazing week leading up to Christmas which involved celebrating my birthday on Sunday with all my friends some wine and lots of laughing.. Heading out to dinner with my roomies for our annual chrissy dinner and then going to see the lights afterwards which was a little bit of a let down as it was raining and most of the houses had them switched off..so disappointed!!! And going on the most unusual date of my life (which is rather funny now though) which has made me want to re-think the whole dating thing…be single my whole life, get a lot of dogs and just live in fabulous shoes ha-ha, I promise you Perth is too small to meet prince charming!!!!



I have to admit I haven’t even started my shopping yet!! I have been making copius amounts of star shortbread though and so far anyone who has eaten it has survived!!! So tonight im going to brave the shopping centre and be one of those mad people running around with bags of shopping.. My mum used to make Christmas so fun for us I miss being in the family home and having the familiar smells and traditions from when you were younger, there was always a huge tree and she would make imprints in the soot near our fireplace to show that santa had been there. And of course the advent calendars!! (sigh)





I know that these pants make me look double my size..but i do love them!! there is something so sexy about wearing mens pants..plus we have been having the weirdest weather this week..so its forcing me to wear pants its raining..then hot!!! please make your mind up... it is supposed to be Summer and all..

I hope your all enjoying your Christmas week and if your lucky enough to have finished work im so extremely jealous!!

Music Monday...

The National..

Along with their sexy dapper style and beards The National are seriously talented and Matt Berninger's voice makes me totally swoon!!! I completely get lost in the lyrics and want to stay in bed with the rain beating down listening to them all day!!! (sigh) if only that was possible... I have a bit of an emotional connection with them now as i was driving home feeling down one day and they came on the radio.. And it totally forced me to snap out of my gloomy mood...It was like love at first listen... Am i the only one who forms weird relationships with music? haha I know that sounds unusual but its really funny that every band i love has a different part of me..formed at different times in my life and i know how i was feeling or what i was doing when i first heard them!!! (or mayb its about time i just went on a date or something)..

My Birthday in Photos...

I thought id give you a little sneak peek into my birthday (well birthday week really) i had the most amazing day yesterday.. i really am a lucky girl to have such beautiful friends and family!!

Morning coffee with Frankie.. i dont think there is a better way to start the day...

Music at the arts centre with my girl Liv.. this couple were so amazing like a cross between Tegan and Sara & Angus & Julia Stone...









The outdoor cinema we ended up watching a dinner for schmucks i loved it..the weather was amazing and i totally stuffed myself with antipasto and jelly snakes... (and we had the most beautiful sunset too...check it out)







My friend Kash snagged some amazing roses from her mothers garden...they smell incredible... im a total sucker for flowers they instantly put me in a good mood..

You have no...idea....how amazing this cake was i have the best boss in the world!!!! i had about three (four) slices!!!!!



Now i asked everyone to donate (as you know) for my birthday But to my surprise.. i was totally blown away when my work mates gave me this incredible Jo Tote.... as you know i love my photography but i refused to carry my camera around in the bland masculine bags they had available... i had been drooling over Jo Totes bags for so long and dreaming of the mustard one... and then Ta Da........ its now all mine... i literally screamed (a few times) did a little dance and the proceeded to cry haha (im such a sook)
All in all i had a fab birthday week....

Another Year Older...

So it is officially my birthday tomorrow I am a little excited to be turning the big 24.. Hopefully this year turns out as successful as I am planning it to be.. lots of new adventures and big life changes!! I cant wait.. Birthday’s for me growing up were all about family and a huge Icecream cake, I grew up on a farm so we had acres of land to play on when the party’s were held we all went a little feral and then usually slept outside in our tent while my mum would try to scare us with animal noises..so fun!!





This year i have been super spoiled so far everyone has been so wonderful and helped me reach $733 to raise money for Charity Water and I am honestly so humbled by the generosity.. It is only a small donation but hopefully it will help those who need it the most.. Also I have been invited on two birthday dates.. One with my gorgeous friend Liv who treated me to an outdoor concert at her local art centre (with champagne and pastries) it was so nice relaxing in the sun listening to beautiful music..



And tonight im heading to the outdoor Cinema with my flatmate Jess, she knows the way to my heart because I love, love, love the outdoor cinema.. give me a bean bag and a bag of grapes and im set.. I remember I watched I am legend a few years ago and it seriously scared the pants off me.. being outside!! Surrounded by darkness…. Watching a movie about crazy scary mutated humans… the walk to the car was a little interesting!!!



Now I did only ask for donations this year but my best friend jazz bought me the most divine Mimco wallet.. I’ll share pictures soon.. (naughty girl)



Moving over to this pretty rad Suede jacket I found op shopping.. I got the usual what on earth are you going to do with that looks.. but I knew it would be pretty perfect with a bow blouse and some sort of floral skirt!!! Considering it’s a pretty old jacket the only fraying it has is on the buttons and the rest is in pretty perfect condition!! It’s now getting acquainted with all the other blazers in my closet!!!

Also..this is a new member in my record player family...isn't she beautiful..
I hope your all having a swell week so far, im going to take the day off from blogging tomorrow to bask in Birthday goodness!!! (And ill be too busy stuffing my face with cake) But ill be back Friday XX
